Our Latest Proposal Story

Thank you so much for sending this in. We wish you two all the best!

———

Dave and I met while going to Georgian College for Police Studies Degree program in the summer of 2007…

We did not fall in love at first sight like they talk about in the story books but were instantly attracted to each other.

We were both in relationships at the time so became friends and school mates. Dave was the guy that every woman wanted. He opened doors for women and was always polite and a gentlemen. He was brilliant in school and his passion for policing was clear on his face.

We both were part of the Police Auxiliary Program and both had dreams for a career in policing.

Dave graduated from college a half year before I did and continued his co-op at the Academy. It was not long after that, that he was hired by the police force close to my home town.

I was still finishing up my schooling when Dave graduated from OPC and then became a cop.

We ran into each other while both out with friends one night and have been absolutely inseparable ever since.

With so much in common we have never been bored together.

I moved in with Dave not long after and focused on my application with the police force. The support he and our families gave me was unbelievable and was I accepted in April 2010. My first week away from Dave was hard, but the months to follow would be even harder.

On April 30th 2010 before I left for OPC (Ontario Police College) Dave took me down to High Falls in Bracebridge ON, it is one of our favorite spots to be together. It is a place where we can go to be alone with one another and just enjoy the beauty of Muskoka. It really is a perfectly romantic setting, and the place that every little girl would hope that their prince would one day ask them to marry.

On this day we were planning on celebrating my birthday which was five days prior, but since I had been away at the Academy were were not able to celebrate.

While down at the falls he sat me down and began to give me birthday presents, they were called my OPC survival gifts. When I finished opening all of the gifts he told me he had one more…

Dave got up from the rock and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

It was totally unexpected but the answer was obvious. I could not picture my life without this man. Not to mention the ring that he picked out himself was gorgeous!! (Thanks Jeff Walters Diamonds…you guys did great!)

I soon was told the story of how he asked my parents for their blessing, if you want that story it is best told by my father. I think they made him sweat pretty bad!

Since then life has changed a great deal. We have purchased our first home and have two puppies named Bella and Cruiser. I of course graduated from the Academy and am now also a police officer.

That is our love story in a nut shell! We are excited to see what else life has in store for us and are excited to call ourselves husband and wife.

Erica and Michael’s Proposal Story

Good morning!

We would like to first start off by saying we can’t wait to see the custom made wedding bands you are creating for us! That is all we talked about all weekend. So thank you for taking the time with us on Saturday to listen to our needs and create the perfect rings.

Our proposal story: November 11, 2010

Michael had come up with the idea on how he wanted to propose to me back in January 2010. About 3 months before he proposed, Michael began preparing for something he had never done before. Every week for three months, Michael was slipping away to learn how to play the guitar (anyone who knows Michael, will know that he is not musically inclined). He not only learned the guitar and how to play my favourite song, but also how to sing my favourite song.

On the day of the proposal, Michael stayed home from work to make sure everything was perfect. One of our favourite date nights is to be at home with a couple bottles of wine, listen to music and play cards. When I got home from work, Michael had the music and the wine ready. Not thinking this was out of the ordinary, I didn’t pay much attention to how giddy and nervous he was acting. He handed me a glass of wine and asked me to come and sit down and relax on the couch. The next thing I know, Michael comes out of the bedroom with a guitar in his hand playing/singing Adam Sandler’s “I want to grow old with you”. The moment I realized what effort he must have put into this proposal, I lost it and of course Niagara Falls started J
He got down on one knee and the rest is history!

Thank you for taking the time to listen to our story

Chrissy and Richard’s Proposal Story

Richard Morton & Chrissy Tetlock: Engaged January 19, 2011.

As Chrissy’s graduation gift from nursing school, Rich planned a Disney vacation in Orlando Florida.  Chrissy had never been to Disney before and always wanted to go.  Growing up, her favourite fairy tale had been “Cinderella” and she always dreamed of being at Cinderella’s castle. After visiting two other parks on the trip, Disney’s Magic Kingdom was next on the couple’s “to do” list.

Rich and Chrissy spent the day enjoying the parks many attractions: including a dinner buffet with Piglet, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Eyore!  After the busy day, the young couple found a place to watch the parks amazing fireworks show.

When the show was over, Rich led Chrissy to a park bench overlooking Cinderella’s castle flooded with beautiful colours of her favourite purple and blue.  While enjoying the quiet moment and reflecting on the day, it was there where Rich pulled the ring box out of his pocket, opened the box and asked Chrissy to be his wife.  After a moment of shock, Chrissy said “Yes!” and the couple was officially engaged.

The rest of the vacation was special as Chrissy affectionately named the vacation “Our Engagement Vacation.”

Thank you for helping Rich create the perfect ring.

Tasha and Adam’s Proposal Story

Last year in May I was supposed to go in for a major surgery on my knees, I was terribly upset and stressed about the upcoming day which happened to be the day after our 4 year anniversary.  My fiance Adam had everything planned out without me having a clue.  He had my ring custom made from Jeff Walters Diamonds, and had it picked up the day before, the day of our anniversary and the day before my surgery I was a big ball of stress.   He with the help of some friends had a babysitter arranged for our 7 month daughter, and asked me to go for a ride on his motorcycle.  I of course being the stubborn one, didn’t want to go at first because I thought I had too many things to take care of before the surgery.  I finally agreed to go after Adam convinced me that it was our anniversary, and it would be a good thing to take my mind off the next day.

After my daughter was with our friends, we got on the motorcycle for a beautiful senic drive through the Town of Blue Mountains, he stopped the bike at a Stunning look out point with a view of Collingwood, Wasaga and lake Simcoe.  When we were up at the lookout he said Happy Anniversary, and told me how much he loves me, and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.  I felt amazing but still had no idea what his plans were.  After a beautiful break walking around, he found a secluded area, reached into his jacket, pulled out a little black box and opened it revealing a stunning white gold diamond ring, and asked me to marry him.  Of course I cried and said YES between all my happy tears.  (safe to say I forgot about my surgery I was too happy about the engagement)

Now it is coming up to our wedding date, and we are going to Jeff Walters Diamonds to get our wedding bands!  Thank you to the wonderful staff, for all the help making my engagement ring and I can not wait to see the Wedding bands!

Bryan and Tina’s Proposal

Hello,

Please find below a little note pertaining to how Bryan proposed.  We look forward to designing our wedding bands with you.

As July 16th, 2011 draws closer, I am finally beginning to grasp the reality of everything that has occurred over the past year and a half.  I met the most amazing man on October 11, 2008 and on July 2, 2010 he proposed.  It was the Friday of the long weekend, and Bryan had suggested we go for a tour along Wasaga beach and than out for dinner.  We hopped in the truck, toured along the strip and than drove around for a restaurant that wasn’t over crowded with beach enthusiasts.  We decided to enjoy a quit dinner at the Beacon, a local tavern that sits off the main strip.  After a busy week, it was nice to sit down together over a good meal, and enjoy each others company.  After dinner Bryan suggested we go down to the beach and watch the sunset; something we often do together.

The sun was setting, and as Bryan leaned against the passenger door frame of his 1976 Ford pickup, and I sat in the passenger seat, we shared our thoughts of how the past year had been the most exiting time in each of our lives, and that we were so happy to have found one another.  As I watched the last rays of the sun sink into the waters of Georgian Bay I turned to look at Bryan; he had dropped to one knee and was holding the most beautiful ring I had ever seen.  Bryan proposed, and without a single moment of hesitation I said “yes”.  It was the most perfect moment.

That night defines who Bryan and I are, as individuals, and as a couple; seated in the booth of the local bar, enjoying a glass of wine and cold Canadian while having dinner, touring the countryside, and enjoying being with one another.

Every moment that Bryan and I are able to share together is a memory to hold onto forever.  The engagement ring Bryan selected will help me to hold on to the memories from that night forever.

Thank you,

Bryan Gonneau & Tina Wilson
