Ring Sizing

When it comes to rings there is no such thing as one size fits all and in most cases one size won’t fit you forever. Whether they have just become engaged or have been married for many years most women can recall a time when they needed their engagement ring and wedding band to be resized. It is not often that a woman can try on her engagement ring for the first time and have it fit perfectly. Although some men can estimate a size that is quite close to their fiancées actual finger size small adjustments almost always need to be made to the engagement ring to get it just right. Couples who have been married for a long time know that their finger size can fluctuate over the years almost as much their lifestyles seem to. From having the kids to developing arthritis in their knuckles the engagement rings and wedding bands that once fit so perfectly can become a little snug as the years go by. Rather than having their engagement rings or wedding bands resized as they become too tight or too loose, some couples simply choose to stop wearing them. Engagement rings and wedding bands are purchased all over the world by couples who have the intention of wearing them everyday. With sizing being the easy process that it is there is no reason for anyone to refrain from wearing their engagement ring or wedding band no matter the affect that time has had on their fingers. The process of sizing an engagement ring or wedding band is done by adding a piece of gold to make the size larger or removing a piece of gold to make the size smaller. The beauty of sizing your engagement ring or wedding band is that in order to make sure that the sizing job looks seamless each ring is buffed and cleaned, which in turn makes them look brand new. If you have an engagement ring or wedding band that doesn’t fit comfortably consider having them sized because rings with that much importance are meant to be worn.

Our Latest Proposal Story

Thank you so much for sending this in. We wish you two all the best!

———

Dave and I met while going to Georgian College for Police Studies Degree program in the summer of 2007…

We did not fall in love at first sight like they talk about in the story books but were instantly attracted to each other.

We were both in relationships at the time so became friends and school mates. Dave was the guy that every woman wanted. He opened doors for women and was always polite and a gentlemen. He was brilliant in school and his passion for policing was clear on his face.

We both were part of the Police Auxiliary Program and both had dreams for a career in policing.

Dave graduated from college a half year before I did and continued his co-op at the Academy. It was not long after that, that he was hired by the police force close to my home town.

I was still finishing up my schooling when Dave graduated from OPC and then became a cop.

We ran into each other while both out with friends one night and have been absolutely inseparable ever since.

With so much in common we have never been bored together.

I moved in with Dave not long after and focused on my application with the police force. The support he and our families gave me was unbelievable and was I accepted in April 2010. My first week away from Dave was hard, but the months to follow would be even harder.

On April 30th 2010 before I left for OPC (Ontario Police College) Dave took me down to High Falls in Bracebridge ON, it is one of our favorite spots to be together. It is a place where we can go to be alone with one another and just enjoy the beauty of Muskoka. It really is a perfectly romantic setting, and the place that every little girl would hope that their prince would one day ask them to marry.

On this day we were planning on celebrating my birthday which was five days prior, but since I had been away at the Academy were were not able to celebrate.

While down at the falls he sat me down and began to give me birthday presents, they were called my OPC survival gifts. When I finished opening all of the gifts he told me he had one more…

Dave got up from the rock and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

It was totally unexpected but the answer was obvious. I could not picture my life without this man. Not to mention the ring that he picked out himself was gorgeous!! (Thanks Jeff Walters Diamonds…you guys did great!)

I soon was told the story of how he asked my parents for their blessing, if you want that story it is best told by my father. I think they made him sweat pretty bad!

Since then life has changed a great deal. We have purchased our first home and have two puppies named Bella and Cruiser. I of course graduated from the Academy and am now also a police officer.

That is our love story in a nut shell! We are excited to see what else life has in store for us and are excited to call ourselves husband and wife.
